Case Study: AUTOMOTIVE CORP. International*

Technical bulletins galore!

The Challenge—

High volume, lightning turnaround

AUTOMOTIVE CORP. International produces a huge number of Technical Service Bulletins—about 400 a year. Because the information they contain has to be forwarded to technicians immediately, the Technical Service Bulletins must be translated within a day or two of their first publication.

The Solution—

Work smarter, faster

Each Technical Service Bulletin contains a consistent set of categories, and many car models share the same components, so a fair amount of material is repeated from one bulletin to the next. Using specialized software—translation memory— our translation system pre-translates all repeated or previously translated material. This allows us to leverage about 50% to 60% of AUTOMOTIVE CORP. International's existing translation assets for each bulletin, which speeds up the process. And every time we do a new bulletin, we add to our centralized translation memory. This means that we have an even stronger foundation for the next job we do for AUTOMOTIVE CORP. International. In other words, the more work we do for them, the faster and more efficiently we can get the job done.

The Proof—

Still with us, after all these years

AUTOMOTIVE CORP. International still counts on us to translate all of their Technical Service Bulletins. And as the years have gone by, they have turned to us for more and more other documents, including web-based training courses, car and other product manuals, brochures and presentation slides.
